PATRICIA YOUNGER
Ada-Services for Patricia L. Younger, 85, of Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with Rev. John Norvell officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Younger died Thursday, September 25, 2014 at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born September 5, 1929 at Shawnee, Oklahoma to William Hansel Lyons and Anna Lee Webb Lyons. She graduated from Poteau High School and came to this area in 1954.
She married Leslie B. Younger on January 10, 1948. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2004. Mrs. Younger was a homemaker. She was also a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church where she was a choir member for many years, former member of the vestry and member of St. Margaret's Guild. She was an original co-owner of The Clothes Corner Ladies Apparel Store. She was an avid bridge player, a licensed Realtor and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include one daughter, Cara Black and husband Tim, of Norman; one brother, Tony Lyons and wife Edwina of Stillwater; three grandchildren, Ashley Squyres, Steven Knickmeyer and Alan Knickmeyer and two great-grandchildren, Khira Black and Lauren Ray.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Younger and a daughter Janis Knickmeyer.
Bearers will be Mike Kemp, Jim Kemp, Terry Tracy, Alvin Files, Dan Church, Don Page and Larry Brown.
