ADA-Services for Patricia Ann (Patti) Reese, 56, Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Glen Hyden will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery.

Ms. Reese died Thursday, July 22, 2010 at a local hospital. She was born March 14, 1954 at Superior, Nebraska to Robert John and Billie Jo Gooch Reese. She and her family moved here in 1955 from Superior. She attended Ahloso grade school and graduated from Ada High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Ecology and Communications in 1976 from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.

Ms. Reese was previously employed with the Corps of Engineers as a Park Ranger, the Ada Evening News as a reporter and later City Editor for 18 years. She was honored with several awards for journalistic excellence for her columns and articles while being the City Editor of the Ada Evening News. After an early retirement, she partnered with her mother and ran a successful ceramics business, later in life she consulted with, developed and assisted administering various programs and courses at East Central State University. Ms. Reese was of the Christian faith, a member of the Ada Arts Council where she served as Secretary for 20 years. She was active as a youth in the Ada Campfire Girls and later as an adult volunteered with the Campfire Girls. She was president of the Schnauzer Club. She loved painting, music and any thing to do with the Arts and the cultural enrichment of her environment or for Ada.

Survivors include a brother, James Reese and wife Carol Reese, Hillsboro, OR; a sister, Susan Hunzaker and husband Mark, Cary, NC; nieces and nephews, Nathan Hunzaker and Michelle Hunzaker, both of Cary, NC; Christopher Reese, Bend, OR, Kaleb Reese, Corvallis, OR, Adam Reese and wife Laura, Hillsboro, OR; great niece and great nephews, Brody Reese, Carly Reese, and Loudyn Reese all of Hillsboro, OR; an uncle, Roy Reese, Topeka, KA; aunts, Mary Niedfeldt, Wamego, KS and Florence Raffray, Houma, LA; three cousins, Dana Dusek, Katy, TX, Greg/Bill Gooch, Arlington, TX, Johnny Gooch, Columbus, TX, and Ceil McDonald, Houston, TX; and her beloved schnauzers, Esmeralda and Basil.

Bearers will be her nephews, Adam Reese, Christopher Reese, and Kaleb Reese, and Nathan Hunzaker, Jerry Fleming, Donald Veal, Roger Revels and Rudy Lupinski. Honorary bearers will be Joe Claxton, Angelo Rubio and Glen Hyden.

The family says those who wish may make memorials in lieu of flowers to the Ada Arts Council, P. O. Box 453, Ada, Oklahoma 74821-0453.
