Obituary

Pamela Jo Jackson

At 10:55 AM, October the 29th, our golden girl went home to be with Jesus. To know Pamela was a gift. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, friend, and educator that championed every person she met.

Pamela was born in Holdenville, OK, on June 18th, 1951, to C.C. and Mildred Stephenson King. When she was three years old, the family relocated to Stillwater, OK, and that was when they all learned that they bled orange. She loved growing up in Stillwater and the life long friendships she made while there. She began college at OSU in the fall of 1969.

Pamela met her husband Kurt at a party to watch the Jerry Lewis telethon in January of 1971. She and Kurt Jackson were engaged by March 14th, and they were married on September the 4th of that year. They set off on many adventures moving to the east coast, traveling, hiking part of the Appalachian trail and lots of trails in Colorado. They loved the mountains and taught their children to love them and adventures too. She taught them to make the most out of their situations and always move forward. She was fun and funny and whip smart. She loved Kurt and all of her kids so much.

Pamela graduated Magna Cum Laude from The College of New Jersey after relocating with Kurt for his position in the Air Force. Upon their return home, she completed a Master’s in Business and an E.d.d. in business, both at Oklahoma State University.

As an educator she poured into her students, especially, those who were struggling or disadvantaged. She encouraged each one of them to be their best and most successful self. There are a lot of kids, now adults, that wouldn’t have made it through school without her drive and enthusiasm for their success. She found solutions for situations that might seem overwhelming to others and were certainly overwhelming to the person that was struggling. She loved her time at East Central University and celebrated her coworkers every chance she got. She was proud to work with each one of them.

As a friend, she loved just as deeply carrying the burdens of everyone she loved spending countless time in prayer uplifting each person and showing that love whenever possible.

She loved unconditionally. She respected people for who they were as God made them regardless of any personal differences. She loved her family fiercely and walked through fire for each of us when needed or not.
