DUB TOLLIVER
ROFF-Services for Oscar William "Dub" Tolliver, 68, of Roff, are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Ada First Baptist Church, Rev. Steve Wilburn will officiate. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery in Roff.
Mr. Tolliver died Monday, March 11, 2013 at his home. He was born March 4, 1945 at Fitzhugh, Oklahoma to Kidd and Wilcie Standridge Tolliver. He attended Fitzhugh grade school and graduated from Roff High School. He graduated from East Central University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.
He married Carolyn Jean "Jeannie" Brown on April 2, 1966 in Sulphur. Mr. Tolliver taught school for a number of years in Sasakwa, then owned and managed a wholesale grain and feed brokerage company, Frontier Trading, Inc. in Roff until his retirement in 2004. He served in the United States Army from September 7, 1963 to September 7, 1971 and had the rank of Sergeant when he was honorably discharged.
Mr. Tolliver was a Gideon and served as President of the Ada Camp for two terms. He was on the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Heritage Bank for 27 years. He was a longtime active member of Fitzhugh Baptist Church. His great love, however, was serving as the leader of the "Widow's Ministry", called the James Gang, which was begun in 2007.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Tolliver, of the home; daughter, Karen Hall and her husband Kent of Ravenna, TX; son, Kidd Tolliver and his wife Luisa of Roff; his mother, Wilcie Tolliver sister, Carol Stewart and husband Earl; and brother, Bob Tolliver all of Roff; his four grandchildren, Kolton Hall, Karlee Hall, Catie Tolliver, and Chance Tolliver; two step-grandchildren, Bianca Ott and Stephanie Love; two nieces, Dana Smith and Susan Stewart; and two great nephews, Chandler and Carter Smith.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, James Otis Tolliver.
Bearers will be Dr. Darryl Fisher, Randy Davidson, Ron Tidwell, Roger Callison, Jim Cox and Keith Morrison. Honorary bearers will be the Fitzhugh Baptist Men's Sunday School Class.
