OPAL MILBURN
ADA-Services for Opal Mae Young Milburn, 95, Ada are 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Revs. Steve Taylor and Jim Adams will officiate. Burial will follow at Lightning Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Milburn died Friday, August 19, 2011 at a local nursing home. She was born November 27, 1915 in Asher, Oklahoma to Emery Madison and Ura B. Sanders Jones. She attended Fizhugh schools.
She married Truitt Young on November 30, 1932. He died January 8, 1966. She later married Howard Milburn on October 7, 1989. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2003. Mrs. Milburn was formerly the Senior Citizens Director for the City of Ada, and she was a charter member of the Fitzhugh United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for several years. Mrs. Milburn was the last living charter member of Fitzhugh United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Billy Gene Young and his wife Peggy of Moore, Vernon Young and his wife Norma of Tonkawa, and Jimmy Carl Young of Yukon; four daughters, Doris Winn and her husband Harold and Nancy Morrow and her husband James of Fitzhugh, and Elreta Ficht and Connie Young of Ada; 21 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Judy Young of California.
She was preceded in death by three children, Ocie Lee Young, Terry Don Young, and an infant daughter; a granddaughter, Starlia Winn; infant twin grandsons, Don and Ron Winn; three sisters, Audrey Gregory, Norma Davis, and Faye Jones; three brothers, H. D. Jones, Roy Jones, and Hurshal Howard "Buster" Jones; a daughter-in-law, Martha Young, wife of Jimmy Young; and a son-in-law, John Ficht, husband of Elreta Ficht.
Bearers will be her grandsons.
