Jeanie Hays

Opal Jean Hays passed away August 30, 2022 at the age of 75 in Ada, Oklahoma. Services are 2:00 pm Friday, September 2, 2022 at the Criswell Chapel.

She was born March 31, 1947 in Hickory, OK to Delmar Franklin Johnson and Pearlie Jane Arbuckle and grew up in Fittstown, Oklahoma where she graduated from McLish Schools.

Opal (Jeanie) never met a child she didn't love. Over the last several years she looked forward to the nights she and Garland went dancing and seeing their special friends there. One of her favorite activities was catfishing anywhere she could wet a hook and could sit for hours whether they were biting or not. She also loved entertaining people and making them laugh while dressed up in her various outfits.

She was a loving and trusting person. She is survived by two grandsons Justin and Hunter Gaither, three sisters, Christine Anderson, Debra Melton and husband Mickey, and Mary Jane Wyche and husband Larry. Four brothers, Buddy Johnson, Dean Johnson, Freddie Johnson and wife Deann, and Billy Johnson, and tons of nieces and nephews.

Opal was preceded in death by her father Delmar and mother Pearlie, five siblings, three spouses and her son, Donald Gaither.

Pallbearers for Jeanie will be Jason Johnson, Earnie Hallmark, Dewy Wimberly, James Jackson, and Dylan McPhetridge

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
