IRENE COLLINGS
ADA-Services for Irene Collings, 89, Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the First Free Will Baptist Church, her son, Mr. Don Collings will be officiating the Celebration of Life, Mr. Len Woods will conduct the graveside service at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Collings died Friday, January 21, 2011 at a local nursing home. She was born June 27, 1921 in Lawrence, Oklahoma to Houston and Myrtle Morrison Smith. She was a lifelong resident of this area. She attended Fitzhugh schools.
She married Earl Collings on December 24, 1938 in the Oakman community. She was a homemaker and later worked in retail sales in Ada. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church since 1946. She was a Deacon for 53 years, a Sunday school teacher for 51 years and was in the choir for 40 years.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Collings, of the home; two sons, David Collings and his wife Janie, Pauls Valley and Don Collings and his wife Sharon, Middletown, WY; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Collings; a sister, Geneva Hardaway; and two brothers, Raymond Smith and Ray Smith.
Bearers will be her sons and grandsons.
