Olen Curry
Services for Olen Francis Curry, 97, of Atoka are 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Atoka First Baptist church, Revs. John Mixon and Joe Chapin will officiate. Burial will follow at the Westview Cemetery , Atoka. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Curry passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at his home. He was born August 27, 1920 at Caddo, OK to Clarence Earnest and Ruby Lorraine Wininger Curry. He attended Atoka schools and graduated from Atoka High School in 1940. Mr. Curry served in the U. S. Army during World War II in Africa, Sicily and Italy, and with the Oklahoma National Guard 45 th Infantry.
He married Mary Ann Gault Plunk December 31, 1983 in Atoka. Mr. Curry was an electrician at the McAlester Ammunition Depot for 25 years, retiring July 7, 1976. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Atoka.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann, of the home; a son, Doyle Curry and Janet Guiles of Crescent; two daughters, Glynda Wehrman and Mark Jones of Lahoma and Leetta Unruh of Enid; a step-son, Bruce Plunk and wife Jessica of Allen; six grandchildren, Roger Glenn Sipes, Regina Sue Sipes, Jeff Mafi and wife Gretchen, Jennifer Mafi and Mark Spess, Chris Curry and wife Robyn and Heather Marshall; two step-grandchildren, Allie Gastineau and husband Joey and Clay Plunk and wife JJ; his great-grandchildren, Jessie Burton, Kaleb Sipes, Dylan Allen, McKenzieAllen, Tyler Curry, Gracie Marshall and Olivia Marshall; two great-great-grandchildren, Pistol Sipes and Haygen Burton; a brother-in-law, Tom Gault and wife Donna; and sister-in-law, Sara Jane Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James "Jim" Curry; and sister, Helen Curry.
Bearers will be Jessie Burton, Kaleb Sipes, Dylan Allen, Tyler Curry, Chris Curry, Roger Glenn Sipes, Jeff Mafi and Clay Plunk. Honorary bearers will be Lowell Reasor, Ronnie and Vickie Butler, Michael and Shara Mosqueda, Joanie Votaw, Tina Stephens Love, Heather Hopson Futrell and Krystal Atkins.
