ODESSA KETCHUM

ADA-Services for Sister Odessa Allen Ketchum, 99, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Fred Huffman will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. Ketchum died Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at a local nursing home. She was born December 6, 1908 at Healton, Oklahoma to A.L. and Linnie Mae Wilkes Melton.

She married Elmer A. Smith on October 13, 1926. He preceded her in death in 1937. She later married Rev. Bennie Ketchum in Coweta, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Ketchum was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and she was a licensed minister and evangelist pastoring her first church in Sweetwater, Texas in 1945. She retired from full time ministry after pastoring the Church of God of Prophecy in Oil Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Wanda McCann and husband Mac, Centrahoma; two brothers, A. L. Melton and wife Hazel, Oklahoma City, and Herman Melton and wife Lillian, Butler; two sisters, Velma Mort, Sugar City, Colorado and Elli Lister, Sacramento, California; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Delbert Smith and Bud Smith; a daughter, Linda Newman; and seven brothers, Wilburn Melton, Clarence Melton, Arthur Melton, Albert Melton, Charles Melton, B. J. Melton and Obie Melton; and a sister, Opal Dodson.
