NOVA PERKINS
ATWOOD-Services for Nova Belle Perkins, 91, of Atwood, are 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Allen Church of Christ, Danny Huntsman will officiate. Burial will follow at the Allen Cemetery.
Mrs. Perkins died Monday, April 8, 2013 at a Holdenville nursing home. She was born April 25, 1921 in Clarita, Oklahoma to Harry Snow and Maude Henslee Medford. She graduated from high school in Carter, Oklahoma. She received Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from East Central University. She lived in the Atwood area most of her adult life.
She married Edmon Lee Perkins on September 18, 1947. He preceded her in death on October 2, 1999. For the majority of Mrs. Perkins' 44 year teaching career, she taught 5th and 6th grade at Moss, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Allen Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Edmon Perkins and his wife Lorene of Atwood; a grandson, Edmon Perkins of Mt. Ranier, Maryland; a granddaughter, Rebekah Ulm and her husband Spencer of Norman; a sister, Lyndall Roberson of Holdenville; loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Leola Lindley and Pete Lindley; and a brother-in-law, J. D. Roberson.
Bearers will be Clifford Lindley, Harry Lindley, Mike Lindley, Wes Lindley, Mike Mays and Spencer Ulm. Honorary bearers will be Tom London, A. J. Stanfield and Bobby Perkins.
