Norvin Toney

Graveside services for Norvin Toney, 98, of Stonewall are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Grove Cemetery near Francis, Rev. Larry Hawkins will officiate.

James Norvin Toney passed away on May 25, 2018. Norvin was born September 1, 1919 in Tulsa, to William and Fannie Toney. Norvin married his wife, Thelma, of nearly 78 years on June 30, 1940 in Arpelar, OK.

Norvin was a veteran who served in the Coast Guard during World War II. After the war, Norvin, his wife Thelma, and their 2 children, Pat and Jerry, moved to the community of Pleasant Hill outside Stonewall, OK, where they lived for 73 years. Prior to retiring Norvin worked as a building contractor and raised cattle.

Norvin is survived by his wife Thelma, his daughter Pat Gregg, his 4 grandchildren, Brian Perry, Russell George, Scott Toney, and Sara Shinneman, and 6 great-grandchildren.

Norvin was preceded in death by his father and mother, William and Fannie Toney, his brothers, Jack and Doran Toney, and his son, Jerry Toney.
