NORMA WOOD
ADA-Graveside services for Norma Wood, 97, Ada, were 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rev. John Haynes officiated.
Mrs. Wood died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at an Ada nursing center. She was born January 14, 1916 at Meg, Arkansas to Clarence M. and Bonnie Andrews Smith. She graduated from Horace Mann High School in Ada in 1934. She also attended East Central State Teachers College in Ada.
She married William "Bill" Webster Wood on November 28, 1962 in Stratford. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1993. Mrs. Wood was a clerk at Mac's Wholesale and also at Keltner's Grocery and Evans Candy Company. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ada.
Survivors include her step-children, Billie Sue Roberson and husband Keith of Kingston, OK, Eddie Wood and wife Carrie of Frisco, TX, Mike Wood and wife Marty of Tishomingo, OK, Pat Wood and wife Kim of Ada, OK, and Judy Whittle of Aubrey, TX; 10 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers, Garland Smith, Hollis Smith, Jimmy Smith, Frank Smith, and Clarence Max Smith; a sister, Maxine; and her step-son-in-law, Jerry Whittle.
