Nina Barker

Services for Nina Marie Barker, 93, of Ada, formerly of Ardmore are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Terry Tolbert will officiate. Burial will follow at McGee Cemetery near Stratford.

Mrs. Barker passed away Friday, December 2, 2016 at an assisted living center in Ada. She was born December 2, 1923 at Oakman to Virgil Hunt and Anna Mae Lillard Hunt. She attended grade school at Oakman and graduated from Vanoss High School in 1941. She attended business school in Ada.

She married Grover L. Barker on October 11, 1947. He preceded her in death September 15, 1987. During World War II, she worked for the A. A. A.. Later, she was a secretary at Bowlegs High School and then Dickson Jr. High School. Mrs. Barker was a member and active at Trinity Baptist Church in Ardmore.

Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Floyd of Ada; two sons, Billy Don Barker and wife Jeanne of Ardmore and Gary Barker and wife Kathy of Sherman, TX; a sister, Betty Wood and husband Steve of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Imaleta Hunt of Albuquerque, NM; her grandchildren, Steven and Denise Floyd, Shawnee; Chuck and Chelsa Floyd, Nashville, TN; Kyndra and Jeff Reed, Ovilla, TX; Ryan and Lindsay Barker, Colorado Springs, CO; and Tyler and Casey Barker, Ardmore; 13 great-grandchildren, Rachel, Andrew and Augustus Floyd; Abigail, Kaelyn, Olivia and Bethany Reed; Afton, Emily, Selah and Lincoln Barker; and Parker and Brody Barker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Grover; her in-laws, Fred and Bertha Barker; three brothers, Dale, Joe and Bill Hunt; sisters-in-law, Lillian and Adeanya Hunt, Helen Turner and Shirley Barker; and brothers-in-law, Joe Turner and Joe Fred Barker.

Bearers will be her grandsons.
