NELSON LEWIS, SR.
WICHITA, KANSAS-Services for Nelson Dale Lewis, Sr., 76, of Wichita, Kansas, formerly of Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Elder Alfred Douglas will officiate. Burial will follow at Athens Cemetery.
Mr. Lewis died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in Wichita, KS. He was born February 3, 1937 in Ada, Oklahoma to Riley and Lessie B. Franklin Lewis. He attended Napier school in Ada, and served in the U. S. Navy from 1956 until being discharged in 1962.
Survivors include his children, Sheila Lewis King and husband Charles, Norman, OK, Nelson Lewis, Jr., Ada, Kenneth Peters, Oklahoma City, Jolanda Peters, Norman, OK, Sabrina Brown, Wichita, KS, and Rodney Peters, Oklahoma City; a brother, Richard Lewis and wife Carrie, Pine Bluff, AR; three sisters, Mary McFadden and husband Leroy, Ada, Shirley Townsend, Oklahoma City, and Victoria Douglas and husband Alfred, Oklahoma City; 18 Grandchildren; 28 Great Grandchildren; and other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Clara Lewis; two brothers, Eddie and Otis Lewis; two daughters, Deliliah Lewis and Terita Lewis; and two infant sons.
Bearers will be Quincy Lewis, Morico Lewis, Cody Lyons, Marcus Rogers, Zack Peters, and Cory Brown. Honorary bearers will be David King, Charles King, Tony Townsend, Leroy McFadden, Mooney and Mr. Black, William Franklin, Jr. and Patrick Lewis
