ALLEN-Services for Nelma Lee Donathan Buchanan, 86, Allen, are 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Allen First Baptist Church, Rev. Chad Kaminski officiating. Burial follows at the Allen Cemetery.

Mrs. Buchanan died on Thursday, June 30, 2011, at an Allen nursing Home. She was born August 1, 1924, in Okmulgee to Lee Donathan and Nannie Goin. She graduated from Ada High School and attended business school. She was a bookkeeper at Bayless Drug Store and affiliated with Second Baptist Church in McAlester.

She married Buel "Buddy" Buchanan Dec. 23, 1978, in Dallas, Texas. He preceded her in death Dec. 27, 2007, in McAlester.

Survivors include a son, Robert Hawkins, Seatac, Washington; four grandchildren, Stacey Flanery and her husband Bill, Luke Hawkins, Michele Pena, Denton, Texas, and Brian Birk; five great-grandchildren, Nicolas Pena, Zachary Chapoy, Michael Flanery, Courtney Flanery and Michale Emerson; her brother-in-law, Billy Daniels, Bonham, Texas; her niece, Julia Belmir and her nephew, Lew McGill.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Valera Jean Pena, and two sisters, Allene Daniels and Gladys Young.
