Celebrating the Life of Napoleon Washington

Rev. Napoleon Douglas Washington was born to Fred and Dorothy Washington on June 17, 1950 in Wewoka, Oklahoma where he was also raised. Rev. Napoleon Washington who we called "Popo" changed addresses and went to his heavenly home that's not built by man on March 20, 2016 at the age of 65. His devotion to his family, his church family, and his firm belief in God showed us all how to live the faith until the end and ultimately gave him peace.

Rev. Napoleon Washington was blessed with a loving family. He was united in holy matrimony to his best friend, Regina Colbert, on August 19, 1972 in Stonewall, Oklahoma . From this union, was born a miracle daughter, Mekaelia Marquisha Washington. Napoleon helped raise Meka with patience, love, and humility. He taught her how to fall in love with Jesus! From the very beginning, he dedicated his daughter to God and encouraged her to explore the beauty of his holiness, leading her to become a Psalmist and worship leader.

Rev. Napoleon Washington was a friend of God and a true worshipper at heart! He was kind and always had time to answer a question, interpret a dream or solve a problem, no matter how small! As a Pastor, he taught his church congregation that without holiness no man can see God. He taught that a personal relationship with Jesus guarantees heaven! He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with the heavenly Father and all is well.

Popo's beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of his wife, Regina Washington; his daughter, Meka Washington; his sisters, Ruthie Barnette, Linda Washington, Wanetta Rogers, Mechelle Washington, Norvell Brown; and his brother, Tyrone Washington. And a HOST of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Dorothy Washington; his sister, Sharon Washington; and his brother, Rickey Washington.

A Wake Service will be held Friday, March 25th from 7-9 p.m. at Criswell Funeral Home. On March 26, 2016, Rev. Willie Guient will officiate the service at First Baptist Church in Stonewall, Oklahoma at 11:00a.m. Rev. Napoleon Washington will be buried at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
The family is grateful for all the flowers, prayers, condolences and memories shared.
