GRANNY NELSON

ADA-Services for Nannie 'Granny' Lois Shreffler Nelson, 85, Ada, are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Abba's House Church of God, Revs Ken Angel and George Vance officiating. Burial will follow at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie.

Mrs. Nelson was born June 12, 1924, to Oren and Lavonia Martin in Finley, OK. She died Dec. 22, 2009, at an Anchorage, AK, hospital. She attended school at St. Louis, OK, and worked at DouglasAircraft. Mrs. Nelson later owned and operated Ernie's Automotive. She and Ernest Edwin Shreffler II, were married in 1945.

She is survived by three daughters, Sue Hazlitt, Stratford, Rozanna Grove and husband Dwight, Ada, and Anna Mekki, Barrow, AK; one son, Ernest Edwin III and wife Kim, McAlester; four brothers, Harold Martin and wife Ada, Winston, OR, James Martin and wife Rose, Carson City, NV, Dean Martin and wife Olivia, Morgan Hill, CA, and Tom Martin, Tupelo; two sisters Donna McMahan and husband Frank, Redding, CA, and Juanita Gallo, Gilroy, CA; 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.

Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Edwin Shreffler II, a daughter Virginia Byrd, six infant children, her parents, two brothers Leon Martin and Louis Martin, and a sister Opal Jayne.

Bearers are Rick Byrd, Bobby Byrd, Jason Byrd, Doron Shreffler, Zachary Shreffler and Aaron Shreffler. Honorary bearers are James Martin, Harold Martin, Dean Martin, Tom Martin, Edward Blankenship and Christopher Travis Booth.
