Nancy Cravey
ADA-Services for Nancy Marie Cravey, 63, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. Doug Hankins will officiate. A Committal Service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday at the A. L. Stephens Memorial Park Cemetery in Clayton, OK. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cravey went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in Ada. She was born July 27, 1951 in Paris, Texas to Lewis C. and Anna Grace Wright Poe. She attended grade school in Clayton and Sunnyvale, California and graduated from Clayton High School. She attended two years at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton, a year at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant and graduated from East Central University in Ada with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and Special Education.
She married Weldon Cravey on November 10, 1972. She and her husband moved to Ada in March 1973 from Antlers. Mrs. Cravey taught for a short time at the Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur and later was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Ada.
Survivors include her husband, Weldon, of the home; two daughters, Natalie Hankins and her husband Doug of Frisco, TX and Tiffany Heeg and her husband Paul of Carrollton, TX; her mother, Anna Poe of Antlers; a sister, Neoma Core and her husband Bill of Tahlequah; two brothers, Gerald Poe and his wife Mary of Lovington, NM and Stephen Poe of Clayton; and a granddaughter, Grace Adeline Hankins.
Bearers will be Jerry Nelson, Tracy Brooks, Royce Cravey, Nathan Carper, Frank Cranford, Milton Snow and Carl Duncan.
The family says those who wish may make memorials to the Cap Haitian Children's Home, c/o Southwest Church of Christ, 505 W. 17th, Ada, OK 74820.
