MYRTIE RUSH
CLARITA-Services for Myrtie Grace Rush, 88, of Clarita are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at the Tupelo Church of Christ, Wendell Ingram and Jesse Stephens will officiate. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery near Clarita.
Mrs. Rush died Sunday, November 2, 2014 at a Coalgate nursing home. She was born September 26, 1926 near Shackleford, Texas to Elgie and Grace Gandy Burton. She attended grade school in Olney, TX and graduated from Gonzales High School in Gonzales, California. She moved to this area in 1947 from Gonzales, California.
She married L. M. Rush on November 21, 1946 in California. He preceded her in death May 21, 2014. Mrs. Rush was a homemaker and the coordinator and cook at the Clarita Senior Nutrition Center. She was a member of the Church of Christ, the Home Extension Club, RSVP and SODA.
Survivors include her two daughters, Myra Jean Harkins and husband, Roy James Harkins of Clarita, and Patricia Deen Brimhall of Oregon; her grandchildren, Amie Lynn Hunter and husband Scott, Roy Jaye Harkins and wife Shelly, and James Reubin Harkins; great grandchildren, Cody, Gavin, Dillon, J. C., Dustin, Brandon, Killian and Savannah; a sister, Laverne Brusa; brother-in-law, Edgar "Dub" Rush; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Charles and Janice Hudson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Zachery Levi Brimhall; granddaughter, Reannon Brimhall; and a son-in-law, William Raymond Brimhall.
Bearers will be Johnny Flowers, Chris Lloyd, Ed King, Randy Bills, Dale Marshall, Charles Canida, Larry Westbrook, Kenny Ray, Kyle Bailey and Charles Hudson. Honorary bearers will be Winfred Westbrook, Bob Woods and Bob Ingram.
