Services for Myra Nell Monks, 74, of Asher are 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2021 at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Daniel Johnson will officiate.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Monks passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021 at her home.  She was born December 11, 1946 in Ada, OK to Noah and Etta Waldby Garrett.  She graduated from Vanoss High School and then received her bachelor's degree.

She was married to Everett Monks.  Mrs. Monks was a school teacher and she later retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

Survivors include her husband, Everett Monks; two sons, Allen Deryl Sanders, Jr. and wife Heather and Daniel M. Sanders and wife Kindra; step-son, Chuck Monks and wife Daisy; step-daughter, Yolanda Caldwell and husband Joey; sister, Dorothy Carlson; two grandchildren, Hershel and Mckinley Sanders; and five step-grandchildren, Kealy, Justin, Toni, Ross, and Caleb.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Hamp Garrett, Maurice Garrett, Floyd Garrett, and Jesse Garrett.

Bearers are Josh Sanders, Daniel Sanders, Deryl Sanders, Justin Stoughton, Joey Caldwell, Doug Powell and Chuck Monks.
