MONTE NEWCOMBE
ADA-Services for Monte L. Newcombe, 60, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Rev. John Haynes will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a celebration of life from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Newcombe died Sunday, September 2, 2007 at his home. He was born December 26, 1946 at Ada, Oklahoma to Toney and Mary Jo "Peggy" Brents Newcombe. He attended Willard Elementary and graduated from Ada High School in 1965. He received a Bachelor's Degree from East Central University and a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma.
He married Pamela Ann Randall on November 16, 1974 in Ada, Oklahoma. Mr. Newcombe was the Director of Behavioral Health for the Central Oklahoma Family Medical Clinic. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ada, served on the McCall's Chapel Advisory Committee and was a member and past president of the Lions Club of Konawa. Mr. Newcombe served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Tour.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Newcombe, of the home; two sons, Matthew Newcombe and Amber Williams, Ada, and John Newcombe, Ada; a daughter, Elizabeth Katy Newcombe, Ada; his mother, Mary Jo "Peggy" Newcombe, Ada; a brother, Michael Wayne Newcombe and wife Susan, Oklahoma City; a sister, Janis K. Burns and husband Merle, Ada; and a granddaughter, Presley Michelle Newcombe, Ada.
Bearers will be Dr. Bill Lee, Dr. Bruce Van Horn, Terry Jordan, Ronnie Fredrick, Bob Cody, and Bobby Fisher. Honorary bearers will be Robbie Robson, Richard Ware, Casey Anson, and Todd Robson.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations to be made to McCall's Chapel Communities, 13546 CR 3600, Ada, OK 74820.
