Monnie, known for her big personality and flamboyant style, passed away after a brief illness on December 3, 2023, at the age of 71. Born on August 30, 1952, in Ada, Oklahoma, to James "Red" and Lois Rhynes, Monnie's life was marked by joy, laughter, and a zest for life that touched everyone she met.

In 1969, Monnie married the love of her life, Don Allison, in her hometown of Ada. Together, they created a life filled with family and fun. Many summers were spent swimming and boating on the lake. Monnie's love for Dr. Pepper and two-step dancing were well-known, reflecting her fun-loving spirit. Monnie was a talented piano player and a good cook. A voracious reader, Monnie had a particular fondness for collecting Stephen King books.

Monnie began her career as a music teacher at Saint Louis and Vamoosa schools. She retired from Allen schools as a special education teacher. Monnie had a wonderful ability to engage children as well as the gift of patience. She was well-loved by her students and known for her sense of fun.

Monnie's ability to make friends wherever she went was legendary. She could talk to anyone and reserve judgment. Monnie saw the best in people and loved to live in the moment. Her favorite pastime, however, was showering love and affection on her family.

Monnie leaves behind a legacy of fond memories with her children: Heath and Shana Allison of Ada, Oklahoma, and Chad and Sarah Allison of Dallas, Texas. Her grandchildren, Tristan and Daryn Allison of Ada, Oklahoma, and Levi Allison of Dallas, Texas, will miss her deeply. Monnie's joyful spirit will also be remembered by her siblings: James Jr., Phil, Tim, and Terry Rhynes, all of Ada, Oklahoma.

Monnie's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her. However, her memory will continue to bring smiles to the faces of her family, friends, and all who knew her. Monnie's distinctive character will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
