MINNIE GIPSON
PONTOTOC-Services for Minnie Gipson, 86, of Pontotoc are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Revs. Allen Beck and Randy Wade will officiate. Burial will follow at Seeley-Blue Cemetery near Connerville. There will be a wake service at Criswell Funeral Home Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
Mrs. Gipson died Sunday, February 26, 2012 at her home. She was born October 21, 1925 in Connerville, Oklahoma to Watson and Frances Wisdom Carter. She attended Bellview School near Mill Creek.
She married Andrew Gipson in September 1943. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2003. Mrs. Gipson was a certified nurse's assistant at Valley View Regional Hospital, retiring after 25 years of service. She was a member of Seeley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Vonda Factor and husband Vernon, Pontotoc, and Barbara Martinez, Dallas, TX; two sons, Billy Gipson and wife Amanda, Sasakwa and Shawn Gipson, Ada; and 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 daughters-in-law, Mary Gipson, Ada, and Tina Gipson, Espanola, NM.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Leslie Gipson and James Gipson; a brother, Charlie Carter; and three sisters, Vinola Brown, Wanda Wagon and Erie Cravatt.
Bearers will be Harlan Shields, Chris Gipson, Alan Gipson, Chas-Ke Martinez, Jon Gipson, Watson Wagon, and Terry Wagon. Honorary Bearer will be Matthew Barnoski.
