MINNIE GABBARD

ADA-Services for Minnie Shell Gabbard, 87, Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church, Revs. Greg Pollard and Frank Trent will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gabbard died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at a local hospital. She was born May 9, 1921 at Livingston, Rockcastle County, Kentucky to Henry and Myrtle Pace Shell. She attended school at Pleasant Run School in Livingston.

She married Earl Gabbard February 6, 1942. He preceded her in death October 9, 2002. Mrs. Gabbard retired from General Dynamics in San Diego, California. Then, she traveled extensively with her husband as evangelists for the Pentecostal Church of God. They moved to Ada in 1976 from California. Mrs. Gabbard was a long-time member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Carol Hudson, Ada; three grandchildren, Michael Hudson and wife Lisa, Katy, Texas, Amy Rinehart and husband Bill, Seoul, Korea, and Deborah Butcher, Ada; five great grandchildren, Tanner Rinehart, Cameron Rinehart, and Cody Rinehart, all of Seoul, Korea, Ashley Hudson, Norman, and Roudy Hudson, Katy, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rev. Earl Gabbard, three sisters, Hazel Saylor, Rose Lakes, and Bertha Carpenter, and three brothers, Chester Shell, Herbert Shell, and Roscoe Shell.

Bearers will be Michael Hudson, Bill Rinehart, Tanner Rinehart, Cameron Rinehart, Cody Rinehart, and Roudy Hudson.
