MILDRED BYRD
ADA-Services for Mildred Marie Byrd, 88, of Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, her grandson, Rev. Tony Folger will officiate. Burial will follow at McGee Cemetery near Stratford.
Mrs. Byrd died Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at a local nursing home. She was born October 17, 1925 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Eddie Max and Dora Francis Harris Fowler.
She married Herbert Byrd on October 8, 1953. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2009. Mrs. Byrd was a homemaker.
Survivors include two brothers, David Fowler and wife Bonita of Ada and Wendel Fowler and wife Donna of Sulphur; a sister, Gearldine "Jo" McCarley and husband Ted of Edmond; numerous nieces and nephews; a step son-in-law, Jim Folger of Ada; and her grandchildren, Tony Folger, Shannon Dykstra and Jeannete Vangundy.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, T. D. "Snooks" Fowler and his wife Millie, Buck Fowler and his wife Esther, Nick Fowler and his wife Ruby, and Eddie Fowler and his wife Edwina; two sisters, Elsie Shirley and husband Jim and Thelma Pinson and husband Claude; and a step-daughter, Alma Jean Folger.
Bearers will be Kent Fowler, Darl Fowler, Don Fowler, Bob Fowler and Greg Patton.
