MILDRED BIRDWELL
ADA-Services for Mildred Birdwell, 85, of Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. Robert Payne will officiate. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.
Mrs. Birdwell died Sunday, August 4, 2013 at a local hospital. She was born November 16, 1927 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to Jessie and Fannie Foran Neely. She attended Friendship school near Sasakwa in Seminole County.
She married J. O. Birdwell on June 22, 1946. He preceded her in death on December 8, 1993. Mrs. Birdwell was a homemaker and a member of Colbert Baptist Church.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Debbie Elles, Marietta, Shelly McGill, Ada, Angela Fisher, Byars, Leslie Howell, Ada, Rhonda Wheat, Ada, Tina Johnson, Ada, and Jeremy Cheek, Houston, TX; and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. O. Birdwell; her children, Jerry Birdwell, Carol Cheek and Janie Howell; her parents, Jessie and Fannie Neely; and brothers and sisters, Earl Neely, Ruby Neely, John Neely, Velma Prewitt, Alene Thomas and Arlie Neely.
Bearers will be Lee Roy Fisher, Joe Johnson, Dennis Wheat, Chris McGill, Spencer Fisher and Blake Wheat. Honorary bearers will be Billy Elles, Bobby Elles, Zachary Fisher, Chase Johnson, Hunter Clifton, Tony Clifton, Ronnie Cheek and Jim Howell.
