Mickey Soward

Services for Mickey V. Soward, 68, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Bobby Briggs will officiate. Burial will follow at Maxwell Cemetery.

Mr. Soward passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born January 14, 1953 in Ada, OK to Johnnie Vester and Lorene Geraldine Summers Soward. He attended Washington Grade School in Ada and graduated from Ada High School in 1971.

He married Sherri Looney on August 14, 1980 at the Ada First Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Soward was the Automotive Manager at Montgomery Ward for several years until it closed in 1986. He later owned American Tire and Automotive until he retired in 2008. He loved Oklahoma Sooner Athletics and his cats. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sherri, of the home; his only child, Lacy Grammer and husband Cody of Ada; and numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Lorene Soward; and a sister, Donna Soward McRaney.

Bearers will be Cody Grammer, Roger Fowler, Ricky Looney, Tyler Stuart and Kyle Ritter.
