MICHAEL WELCH

STONEWALL-Graveside services for Michael Duane Welch, 56, of Stonewall, OK are at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall on Saturday, January 18th at 10:30 a.m. Dr. Benjamin Husted will officiate.

Mr. Welch died Thursday, January 16th, 2014 at his home. He was born on July 28th, 1957, in Ada to Benjamin "Mack" and Wanda Welch. He graduated from Vanoss High School in 1975 and attended OSU- Okmulgee Tech. He married Annette Sliger on October 27, 1978 in Ada.

He worked for both Pontotoc County Rural Water District #9 and #8 for over 30 years as a district manager and prior to that helped his dad with Welch Pump Service and water well drilling. He attended Owl Creek Community Church in Owl Creek.

Survivors include his wife Annette Welch, of the home; two daughters, Crystal Ahrend and husband Matthew of Coweta, OK; Carrie Odell and husband Jeffrey of Ada; three grandsons Nate and Levi Ahrend and Grayson Odell; a brother, Mark Welch and wife Pam, of Ada; and a sister Sondra Horath and husband Mike, of Coleman, OK; a father-in-law and mother-in-law, Willard and Iva Lois Sliger, of Stonewall; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. Benjamin and Judy Husted, of Prague, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin "Mack" and Wanda Welch and a nephew Justin Wayne Lemons.

Bearers will be George Welch, Kevin Norman, Kenny Fortner, Ronnie York, Lewis Ragland and Howard McGraw.
