SHAWNEE-A Celebration of Life for Michael Edward Dodson, 63, of Shawnee, will be held at Noon, Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Citizen Potwatomi Nation's North Reunion Hall in Shawnee.
Mr. Dodson died Monday, October 20, 2014 at his home in Shawnee. He was born June 25, 1951 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Edward and Berdine Ong Dodson. He graduated from Purcell High School and also attended college.
Mr. Dodson was the Radio News Director for the Citizen Potawatomi Nation's KGFF radio station. Prior to assuming the role of News Director for KGFF, he served for many years as the Public Information Director for the CPN. His career in radio and news media spanned four decades.
Survivors include a daughter, Courtney Helms and her husband Branden of Dallas, TX; his mother, Bonnie Berdine Dodson of Ada; two grandsons, Benjamin and Thomas Helms; sister, JoElla Sawyer of Ada; brother, Randel Eugene Dodson of Corpus Chrisi, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Coolidge Dodson.
