Michael Curry

Graveside services for Michael James Curry, 74, of Texas, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Five Mile Cemetery. Rev. Earl Hood will officiate.

Michael passed away peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2025, in Ada, Oklahoma.

He was born on September 2, 1951, in St. Martinville, Louisiana, to the late Israel and Yolande Melancon Curry. Michael was a proud and devoted family man, a hard worker, and someone who brought energy and dedication to everything he did. He spent his career as a construction consultant, a profession that matched his driven spirit and strong work ethic.

Michael had a deep love for the outdoors—whether it was fishing, traveling, or just spending time in nature. A lifelong fan of the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints, he never missed a chance to cheer them on. Though known as a bit of a workaholic, Michael always made time for the people and passions that mattered most to him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mariam Cortes Batista; his son, Michael Cody Curry and wife Kristen of Ada; his daughter, Amy Lee and husband Justin of Houston, Texas; and three cherished grandchildren: Sydney Underwood, Connor Curry, and Cole Curry.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved stepmother, Annie Curry; his brother, Jerry Carl Curry Sr.; and his sister, Dorothy Jean Curry.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
