MICAH TURNER
ADA-Services for Micah Ray Turner, 32, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Crosspointe Church, Rev. Shawn Wiebers and Pastor Justin Edge will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Turner died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born December 15, 1980 in Ada, Oklahoma to John Wayne and Diana Faye Choate Turner. He attended Vanoss schools and graduated from Vanoss High School in 1999. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from East Central University and was getting ready to start his Master's Degree from the University of Oklahoma.
He married Rachel Beam on December 14, 2001. Mr. Turner taught Special Education at Latta Schools for nine years and was a lifetime member of Crosspointe Church. He was an avid O.U. football fan and a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. He was an umpire and referee for baseball, softball and basketball through OSSAA. He was a fisherman, loved to noodle and was always up for a game of whiffle ball in the backyard. He was a member of Troop 13 of the Boy Scouts of America and an Eagle Scout.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel, of the home; a son, Konner Turner, and a daughter, Katon Turner, both of the home; his father and step-mother, John and Rhonda Turner of Savanna, Texas; three brothers, Mark Turner and his wife Misty of Holdenville, Luke Turner of Shawnee, and Joshua Turner and his wife Kendra of Ada; three nephews, Morgan and Manning Turner, and Jonathan Turner; a soon-to-be niece, Lexie Turner; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wayne and Lou Ann Beam of Pauls Valley; and many family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Diana Turner in 2003; his grandparents, Rev. Richard Turner and Corean Turner, and Raymond and Jessie "Bam Bam" Choate.
Bearers will be his three brothers, Mark Turner, Luke Turner and Josh Turner, and Josh Moore, Marcus Smith and Randy Ellis. Honorary bearers will be Morgan, Manning and Jonathan Turner and Kobe Payton.
