MELBA STOCKTON
STONEWALL-Graveside services for Melba Jean Stockton, 70, Stonewall are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore, Oklahoma, Pastor Donald Stockton, her son will officiate.
Mrs. Stockton died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at an Ada hospital. She was born December 2, 1940 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to John Beavers and Eva Mae McCurry. She was raised by her step-father, Bill Shephard and her mother, Eva Mae Shephard. She graduated from high school and attended East Central University.
She married Truman Carl Stockton on September 29, 1962 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mrs. Stockton was a homemaker and had previously worked as a custodian for TDS phone company, the First National Bank and the post office.
Survivors include her husband, Truman Stockton, of the home; a son, Donald Stockton and his wife Christy of Ada; her father, Bill Shephard of Tulsa; one sister, Mary Stacy and her husband Jerry, Stonewall; five grandchildren, Jessica, Jackie, Aldric, Ryan and Jed; one great grandchild, Braylen Stovall; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Eva Shephard; a son, Randy James Stockton; and two sisters, Geraldine Wilson and Alice Beavers.
Bearers will be Ryan Stockton, Aldric Stockton, Robert McGuire, Jr., Doug Babbs, Brad Grubbs, Randy Wilsey and Jed Stockton.
