MELBA MOFFATT
ADA-Services for Melba Clarice Moffatt, 86, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. George Warren will officiate. Burial will follow at Green Meadows Cemetery in Atoka.
Mrs. Moffatt died Sunday, April 5, 2009 at a local hospital. She was born June 2, 1922 at Jesse, Oklahoma to Clyde and Velma Dale Chapman. She attended Wards Chapel school and graduated from Atoka High School. She graduated from Draughan's Business College in Oklahoma City.
She married George R. Moffatt on February 7, 1942 in Waurika, Oklahoma. He died August 3, 2003. Mrs. Moffatt was a Draft Board Director with the Selective Service in Atoka and Tulsa from 1942 until 1974. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ada.
Survivors include one brother, Bill Chapman and wife Sheril, Ada; a special niece, Carey Chapman Watson and husband Ronnie, Moore; a special nephew, Todd Chapman, Moore; two sisters-in-law, Mary McNeil, Sulphur and Alice Gardner, Waco, TX; one brother-in-law, Wallace Moffatt, Mabank, TX; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
