Melba Birchfield

Graveside services for Melba Le Birchfield, 86, of Ada, are 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 25, 2022 at Highland Cemetery.

Ms. Birchfield passed away Friday, April 22, 2022 at a hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born September 11, 1935 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Bill Birchfield and Cleo Philips.

Melba was raised by her grandmother, Mary E. Tutt, and grew up in Fittstown with her aunt. Melba attended first grade at Blue Mounds school, McLish, and then later Enid State School. At the age of 18, Melba moved to Konawa to be in a nursing home, and then in 1995 She moved into a program with DJK Enterprises and has been apart of their family ever since.

Melba worked in the laundry services and the Sheltered workshop, and then started working at Wise Owl resale until her retirement.
