Max
Roberson
September 12, 1942 – April 15, 2019
Services for Max Sterling Roberson, 76, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Erin J. Warde will officiate. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore.
Mr. Roberson died Monday, April 15, 2019 at his home. He was born September 12, 1942 in New Iberia, LA to Jerome A. and Helen Belle Merrill Roberson. He graduated from Ardmore High School.
He married Jimmie Ellen Payne January 10, 1964. She preceded him in death December 18, 2016. Mr. Roberson was an independent oil producer and a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Max was an enormously loving individual, if you ever truly knew him you loved him. He was honest, generous to a fault, at times, and dearly respected and loved by his family. He was greatly impacted by the passing of his beautiful bride Jimmie Ellen. We are touched and at peace that they are now reunited. His daughters adored him, as he adored them. Max was deeply passionate about his family and friends, particularly his grandchildren, who we hope carry on his legacy of honesty, integrity and love toward others. He was sensitive, generous and loved his other family, Oak Hills Golf and Country Club, donating his time and resources to board and club at any time. He loved being able to be around his friends at the club, and I know he will be remembered fondly. Daddy was an Ardmorite and will return a long side his beloved wife at Rose Hill Cemetery among many other family and friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Stephanie Cowan and husband B.J. of Norman and Ann Keawe of Norman; a sister, Sylvia Harrel of Ardmore; sister-in-law, Pat Roberson of Tupelo; grandchildren, Jackson and Katie Cowan, Tori Cowan, Alexis S. and Sadie G. Keawe; nieces and nephews, David Roberson, Traci Bray, Wes, Chris and Truitt Fore, James Payne, Ivy Payne and Kelli Payne; brother-in-law, Robert Payne and wife Teresa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Roberson; son-in-law, Glenn A Keawe; and uncle, Max Roberson; and mother-in-law, Helen Christine Flanagan.
