Mary West
Mary Lynne (Harte) West passed away January 23, 2026. She was 83 years old.
Mary was born May 26, 1942 in Los Angeles, California to Clint and Myrtle Harte.
Mary attended Venice High School in Los Angeles and the University of Southern California, Los Angeles for a year before marrying Dwain West.
In addition to being primarily a stay-at-home mother to three children, she and Dwain owned West Pipe & Supply, a wholesale plumbing company in Victorville, California for many years. In the early years, she worked in the office, assisted customers and even drove a one-ton pickup to L.A. to pick up supplies, often with a toddler riding along.
The family moved to Ada, Oklahoma in 1980. She drove the East Central Student Support Services student van for 14 years and was devoted to the students she transported. Mary also used her talent as a pianist in church and area nursing homes.
Mrs. West is survived by her three children, Deanna Piercy and husband David Piercy of Ada, Oklahoma, Daniel West and wife Deena West of Ada, Oklahoma, and son Dr. Michael West and wife Miranda West of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Christopher Piercy, Lisa Sharp and husband Justin Sharp, Lauren Artis and husband Danny Artis, Will West and wife Mackenzie West, Alyssa West, Austin Wainscott and Ashlin Wainscott. She is also survived by her sister, Deanna Hupp of Laguna, California; two sisters-in-law, Audrey "Kay" Johnson of Oklahoma City and Ruby West of Hesperia, California; as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
Mary West was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dwain West; brother-in-law Dwight West and sister-in-law Marilyn West; brother-in-law Edwin Hupp; brother-in-law Dr. Robert "Bob" Johnson; brother-in-law Carl West; and granddaughter Shelby West.
A public memorial and celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
