RUTH SUMMERS
ADA-Services for Mary Ruth Summers, 83, Ada , are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ada Freewill Baptist Church, the Rev. Ryan Humble officiating. Burial follows at Swan Hill.
Mrs. Summers died Jan. 15, 2010, at her home. She was born July 4, 1926, to Carl Watson and Lonnie Mae Carter Skeen in Melrose, New Mexico. She attended Maud High School and was a homemaker. Mrs. Summers was affiliated with the Free Will Baptist church.
She married Euvon Summers Oct. 8, 1945, in Arkansas. He died July 2, 1998.
Survivors include three sons, Dan Summers and wife Louise, Jerry Summers and Gary Summers and wife Christina, all of Ada; two daughters, Kay Smiley and husband Jerry, Aztec, New Mexico, and Patricia Summers, Ada; three sisters, Dorothy Mae Scates, Ada, Gay Carol Skeen, Huntsville, Alabama, and Margaret Baker, Springfield, Illinois; one brother Arthur "Buddy" Skeen, Waco, Texas; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Ida Mae Mesarik, brothers Carl Skeen, Dale Skeen, Vernon Skeen and Lloyd Skeen.
Bearers will Kevin Lynch, Tony Duffy, Billy Kiffin, Buddy Skeen, Jerry Smiley and George Wright.
