Mary Ann Plunk Curry

Services for Mary Ann Gault Plunk Curry, 85, of Allen are 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. John Mixon will officiate. Burial will follow at the Atoka Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Allen Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Mrs. Curry passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019 at her home. She was born June 3, 1934 at Allen to Glenn and Mary Alice Shandy Gault. She graduated from Allen High School in 1952.

She married Bob Plunk in 1952. Mary Ann worked for the Headstart Program in Allen for 13 years. She then worked at Criswell Funeral Home for about two years. She returned to East Central University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in 1983.

She later married Olen Curry December 31, 1983. He preceded her in death January 2, 2018. Mrs. Curry taught Home Economics at Atoka High School, Atoka Middle School and the Elementary School for 9 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Atoka First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Bruce Plunk of Allen; daughter-in-law, Jessica Plunk; her step-children, Glynda Wehrman, Leetta Unruh and Olen Doyle Curry; her grandchildren, Allie Plunk and Clay Plunk and wife J.J.; a great-granddaughter, Jayla Plunk; her step-grandchildren, Roger Glen Sipes, Regina Sue Sipes, Jeff Mafi and wife Gretchin, Jennifer Spess and husband Mark, Chris Curry and wife Robyn, and Heather Marshall; step-great-grandchildren, Jessie Burton, Dylan Allen, McKenzie Allen, Gracie Marshall, Olivia Marshall, Kaleb Sipes and Tyler Curry; her step-great-great grandchildren, Haygen, Vanessa and Presley; a brother, Tom Gault and wife Donna; a sister, Sarah Jane Gault Campbell; her care-givers, Tina Stephens-Love and Makayla Stephens; a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Olen Curry; and her parents, Glenn and Mary Alice Gault.
