MARY NIX

ADA-Services for Mary Juanita Bateman Nix, 85, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. David Gray will officiate. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Resthaven Cemetery in Oklahoma City.

Mrs. Nix died Sunday, November 11, 2007 at a local hospital. She was born April 4, 1922 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Fred and Ida Holly Straley. She attended school in Oklahoma City.

She married Robert Raymond Earl Bateman in 1942. He died in 1976. She later married Alfred Nix in 1978. He died in 1995. Mrs. Nix retired from Valley View Regional Hospital in Social Services after several years of employment. She was a member of Southwest Church of Christ.

Survivors include children, Dennis Bateman and wife Kelly, Ada, Jim Bateman and wife Betty, Blanchard, Gary Nix, Oklahoma City, John Nix and wife Becky, Spring, Texas, Mike Nix, Seminole, Patty Bailey and husband Jerry, Ada, Lynn Nix, Seminole, and Angie Sloan and husband Greg, Bentonville, Arkansas; a sister, Sue Tattoli and husband John, Midwest City; a sister-in-law, Joan Straley, Oklahoma City; 15 grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Herman Straley, Hubert Straley, and Claver Straley.

Bearers will be Christopher Bateman, Kevin Bateman, Brent Bailey, Brad Bailey, Billy Nix, Greg Sloan, and Daren Nix.
