MYRTLE ROBERTS
ADA-Services for Mary Myrtle Roberts, 84, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Oil Center Pentecostal Holiness Church, Rev. Earl Hood and her grandson, Cord Fowler will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roberts died Sunday, July 31, 2011 at an Oklahoma City hospice house. She was born July 19, 1927 in Yeager, Oklahoma to Everett Afton and Ida Melinda Wood Tucker.
She married Oris Roberts on September 15, 1951. He preceded her in death on November 13, 2001. Mrs. Roberts had been a waitress, worked at a pawn shop, owned and operated a grocery store and gas station and was also a cattle trader. She was a charter member of the Campground Free Will Baptist Church since 1960.
Survivors include two daughters, Kaye Fowler and her husband Bob of Yukon, and Judy Griffin and her husband Bruce, Ada; a son, Tony Roberts and his wife Ann of Ada; seven grandchildren, Cord Fowler and wife Kim, Yukon, Leslie Long and husband Brad, Harrisburg, NC, Misty McKinney and her husband Chris, Cabot, AR, Jonnita Lackey and her husband Sean, Ada, John Roberts and his wife Jennifer, Stratford, Brandy Glover and her husband Jarrod, Ada, and B. J. Griffin, Ada; ten great grandchildren, Jessica Fowler, McKenna Fowler, Joshua Long, Garrett Long, Dylon Long, Brayden Roberts, Caston Lackey, Zac Dansby, Bryce Haynes and Baleigh Griffin; a sister, Ruth Eeds, Moore; companion, Bella, the bulldog; and other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, James Tucker, Jack Tucker and Herb Tucker, and a sister, Donna Stansbury.
Bearers will be her grandsons. Honorary bearers will be Wayne Masoner, Joel Masoner, Bobby Briggs, George Welch, Mark Masoner, Ricky Allen, Rick Bellville, and Andy Teachey.
