MARY LEONARD VINSON
ALLEN-Services for Mary Eva Leonard Vinson, 90, of Allen, formerly of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Randy Martin will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada.
Mrs. Vinson died Friday, September 13, 2013 at her home. She was born May 12, 1923 in Coyle, Oklahoma to Carl Ray and Alpha Mae Bentley Cowger. She graduated from Coyle High School and moved to Ada in the early 1950's from Duncan.
She married Robert B. "Bob" Leonard in 1942. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1980. She later married James Vinson on December 12, 1986. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2005. Mrs. Vinson co-owned Bob's Bar-B-Que Restaurant in Ada for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Ada.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay Perry and husband Charles of Ada; a son, Dr. Robert Leonard and wife Adrienne of Edmond; her step-daughters, Jimmie Nell Hawkins, Pat Pennypacker and husband Jim and Judy Carrol and husband Wayne, all of Duncan; three step-sons, Tim Vinson, Duncan, Steve Vinson and wife Carolyn, Davis, and Larry Vinson and wife Kay; two sisters, Hazel Dillen, Muskogee, and Anna Fay Gonsalves, Redwood City, CA; three grandchildren, Laura Elisabeth Leonard, Brooke Erin Leonard and Jeffry Scott Perry; 12 step-grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Carl Vinson and R. L. Vinson, both of Allen; and two sisters-in-law, Betty Bolin, Ada and Ruth Davis, Conway, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and a brother, George Cowger.
Bearers will be R. L. Vinson, Drew Johnson, Joe Don Harrison, Chris Gurley, Jack Noe and George Noe. Honorary bearers will be Carl Vinson and Gary Vinson.
