Obituary

God gained another Angel today as Mrs. Mary Ann Ward Holman, 73 of Byars, Oklahoma passed on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.

Mrs. Holman was born May 18, 1948 in Ada, Oklahoma to Carl Reuben Ward and Stella Kathrine Ward. Mary was the eldest daughter of nine children and helped raise her younger siblings.

Mary's heart was enormous, always looking to help those in need and her family. Mary was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always available for advice and life lessons with her kitchen and coffee table always open to feed and visit. She loved being with family and always helped to discipline her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children no matter their age. When our aunt Mary spoke, we listened and loved every minute of it.

Mary wedded Donald Ray Holman and raised three sons and a grandson Roy Don, Ricky, Randy and Roy Don Jr. all of Stonewall, Oklahoma.

Mary worked as a healthcare provider at Stonegate Nursing facility in Stonewall for many years, later devoting fulltime as a homemaker.

Mary later moved to the Byars community until her untimely passing.

She is survived by her brothers Billy Wayne Johnson and Johnny Wilson both of Ada, sisters Linda Coon of Little Axe and Debbie Osberg of Weare, New Hampshire, grandchildren Roy Don Jr. of the home, William Corliss of Aurora, Colorado, Hollan Corliss of Edmond, Felisha Pearl Holman of Waurika and Holly Ann Holman of Noble along with great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband Don, sons, Roy Don and Ricky, brothers Carl Ray Ward, Dale Ward, Danny Ward and sister Retha Ward preceded her in death.

The family will hold a celebration of her life later.
