MARY HAMON
ADA-Services for Mary Jo Hamon, 82, of Ada are 10:00 a. m. Saturday at the Ada Church of the Nazarene, Rev. Jim Knight and Mr. Albert Nelson will officiate. Burial will follow at Dustin Cemetery in Dustin, OK. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hamon died Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at a local hospital. She was born August 24, 1929 in Dustin to Roy C. and Amy Juanita Robinson Kirkendoll. She attended school in Dustin and graduated from Dustin High School. She attended the University of Texas and received a Bachelor's degree in Education.
She married Leonard Basil Hamon on December 12, 1946 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on November 3, 2011. Mrs. Hamon was an elementary school teacher in the Mid-Dell School System, retiring after 20 years of service. She and her husband moved to Ada in 1990 from Choctaw and were members of the Ada Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Hitsman and her husband Randy of Pottsboro, TX, and Sharon Davies and her husband Dr. Donald Davies of Ada; one brother, R. C. Kirkendoll and his wife Wanda of Ridgecrest, CA; a sister-in-law, Jean Hamon of Vivian, LA; one brother-in-law, Dennis Hamon of McAlester; five grandchildren, Shelly Waddell, Kelly Minter and her husband Jason, Amy McDaniel and her husband David, Joe Allen Hitsman and his wife Mandy, and Nicholas Davies and his wife Misty; 15 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
Bearers will be her grandsons, Jacob Waddell, Joe Allen Hitsman, Tyler McDaniel, David McDaniel, Jason Minter and Kyle Davies.
