MARY GALVIN
ADA-Services for Mary Carolyn Galvin, 82, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church of Ada, Rev. John D. Norvell will officiate.
Mrs. Galvin died Friday, February 22, 2008 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born June 23, 1925 in Ada to William McKinley and Willetta Kittell Emanuel. She attended Ada schools and Monticello School in Godrey, IL. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1948 from Oklahoma University and she was a member of the Tri Delta sorority at OU.
She married Jay C. Galvin on August 23, 1945. He died February 25, 2007 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mrs. Galvin was a long time member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and served on the Altar Guild. She also served on the board of the Ada Arts and Heritage Center for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Moon and her husband Bill, Ada and Laura Floyd and her husband Ken, Carrollton, TX; four grandchildren, Geoff Moon, Courtney Moon, Andy Moon and his wife Michelle and Eric Floyd and his fiancé Chana Cuny; and one great grandchild, Pacey Marie Moon.
The family says those who wish may make memorials to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, 825 NE 13th, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73104.
The family would like to express their appreciation for all the kindness and consideration to those at the Gardens of Canterbury, Good Shepherd Hospice and Senior Care Services.
