FITTSTOWN-Services for Mary Ellen Davis, 81, Fittstown, are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Pontotoc United Methodist Church, Mr. Hilton Brumfield will officiate. Burial will follow at Pontotoc Cemetery.

Mrs. Davis died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at a local hospital. She was born June 16, 1926 in the Redland Community, near Idabell, Oklahoma to John Patrick and Ruby May Luther Snell. She attended Redland schools and moved to this area in 1943 from Redland.

She married John E. Davis on February 28, 1948. Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and had worked at Blue Bell jean factory for 15 years. She was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include her husband, John E. Davis, of the home; a daughter, Shirley Barrett and husband Jerry, Ada; two grandchildren, Sherri Duty and husband Ladd, Tyrone, Oklahoma, and Leslie Singleton and husband Scott, Oklahoma City; two great grandchildren, Chance Duty, Tyrone, and Tegan Singleton, Oklahoma City; five sisters, Frances Braddock and husband John, Frisco, Faye Gooddell, Arizona, Patricia Thompson, Stonewall, Edna Utesch and husband John, Euless, Texas, and Phyllis Williamson and husband Chester, Stonewall; and a brother, Steven Snell and wife Verna, Fittstown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Patrick and Ruby Snell, and a sister, Gertrude "Bea" Williamson.

Bearers will be grandsons-in-law, Ladd Duty, and Scott Singleton, and nephews, Chris Snell, Jamie Snell, Kenneth Braddock, and Rocky Thompson.
