MARY BAZZELL

ADA-Services for Mary Rose Bazzell, 67, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Revs. Darrell Phillips, Jerry Eperson, Steve Hogue will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. Bazzell died Thursday, June 26, 2008 at her home. She was born January 27, 1941 at Palacios, Texas to Rev. W. J. and Mary Vandergriff. She attended schools in Texas and California graduating in 1959 from McClatchey High School, Sacramento, CA.

She married Charles E. Bazzell on March 10, 1962 in Sacramento, California. They moved to Oklahoma in 1972 where she worked for many years in retail sales in Ada. She retired from Goody's in 2006. Mrs. Bazzell was an active member of the Church of God of Prophecy, working many years as children's director, Sunday school teacher and song leader.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Bazzell, of the home; one daughter, Cindy Bazzell, Ada; one son, Todd and wife Kerri, Mustang; three grandchildren, Laura, Collin, and Alec Bazzell, Mustang; three sisters, Marilyn Hearrell, Ada, Billie Brown and husband Bob, Ada, and Marie McDaniel, Pell City, AL; one brother, Kenneth Vandergriff, Sacramento, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, W. J. and Mary Vandergriff.

Bearers will be Leonard Croy, Richard Rambo, Rudy Sparr, Orville Jackson, Jim Carpenter, and Daryl McDaniel. Honorary bearers will be Robert Brown, Mike Brown, Rob Brown, Kevin McDaniel, and Tommy Carpenter.
