MARY LOU BASS

ADA-Graveside services for Mary Lou Fathree Bass, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Rosedale Cemetery, Rev. Vicki Crooks will officiate.

Mary Lou died Sunday, February 17, 2008 at her home. She was born to Lee Wells and Buford Linton Fathree in Coal County, Oklahoma. She and her family moved to Ada shortly after her birth and she remained in Ada for the major portion of her life. She graduated from Horace Mann High School and received a Bachelor's Degree from East Central College.

She was an elementary teacher and later owned a children's clothing store in Ardmore. In 1960, she purchased Sun N'Fun, a ladies fine ready-to-wear shop, and remained in this business for forty-eight years. She retired in January, 2008. Mary Lou was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church.

Survivors include her sister, Billie Jean Fathree Floyd; nieces, Dr. Carey Lou Floyd, Amy B. Floyd Allen and husband, Russ W. Allen and their sons, great nephews, Jesse Lee and Joel Linton Allen; a sister-in-law, Sue K. Fathree; nephew, Wade Lee Fatheree; niece, Susan D. Fathree Birney and husband Dr. David Birney; grand nieces and nephews, Will Fathree, Lauren Fathree, John Fathree, Jamia and Jeff Bigalow; and great grand niece and nephew, Lila and Grant Bigalow.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dock Wade Fathree.

Honorary bearers will be Bob Bennett, Duard Thomas, Dr. Marco Micozzi, Barry Hudson, Mike Hudson, and Delbert Inman.
