MARVIN OWENS
ADA-Services for Marvin Dennis Owens, 87, Ada, formerly of Choctaw, were 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Choctaw Road Baptist Church in Choctaw, Rev. Rick Sowell officiated. Burial followed at Elmwood Cemetery in Choctaw.
Mr. Owens died Friday, March 6, 2009 at a local nursing home. He was born February 15, 1922 at Vici, OK to Ralph Peter and Mary Agusta Marquardt Owens. He attended Vici and Mutual schools.
Mr. Owens was a self-employed carpenter until his retirement. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a companion in life, Joyce Watts, Ada; four daughters, Dawnette Taylor, Richmond, Indiana, Deborah Anderson and husband David, Mustang, OK, Barbara Watson and husband Jay, Weatherford, Texas, and Gretchen McKee, Mustang, OK; three sons, Michael Owens, Choctaw, OK, Dennis Owens and wife Jan, Fittstown, OK, and Donald Owens and wife Tiffany, Choctaw, OK; two brothers, Ezra Owens and wife Lorellen, Wheatland, OK, and Raymond Owens and wife Janice, Kingfisher, OK; one sister, Julie McIntire and husband Jim, Oklahoma City; twenty grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Mary Ann Owens, a son, Mark Louis Owens, and a grandson, Brent Louis Owens.
