IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Martha Phyllis
Wigdor
September 18, 1940 – May 21, 2023
Martha Phyllis Wigdor, 82, of Ada, Oklahoma, walked into eternity on Sunday, May 21, 2023. She was born September 18, 1940, to Michael and Clara Zimmerman.
Martha, the most loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, is survived by her husband of 60 years, Reubin; sons, Stewart (DeeAnn Deforest) and Jon (Lisa Wigdor); daughter, Sharon Wigdor Byers (Jeff Byers); grandchildren Michael Wigdor, Andrew Wigdor (Ashley Wigdor), Laura Wigdor, and Alex Byers.
Upon graduation from the High School of Music & Art in New York City, Martha attended Barnard College (the Women's branch of Columbia University in New York City). It was in New York that she met the love of her life and soul mate, the man that would walk faithfully through all of the ups and downs of life, Reubin Wigdor. The family loaded up the car and moved from New York to Oklahoma so her husband could go to graduate school at the University of Oklahoma. She finished her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Oklahoma and went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Special Education from East Central State University in Ada, Oklahoma.
Martha worked as a psychometrist for the state of Oklahoma at the Regional Education Service Center for many years. She ended her career, doing the thing she loved, testing children for the Ada Public Schools. She retired from working a couple of years ago.
She was extremely devoted to her husband, her children, her grandchildren, her friends, her church, and the many causes she supported. Martha loved the University of Oklahoma. During football season, she could often be found with her loving husband, covered in red from head to toe and cheering on her beloved Sooners. During the winters, Reubin and Martha were constantly at the Lloyd Noble Center cheering on the men's and women's Oklahoma basketball teams. Martha and her husband loved to travel seeing all of the sites that this country has to offer. They spent many summers with their family at their timeshare condo in Panama City Beach, Florida. Martha loved deeply. She was well loved by all people she came in contact with, and Martha will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Criswell Funeral Home, 815 E. Arlington, Ada, Ok.
