ADA- Marlena Catherine Huntley Lee, 90, died Tuesday morning, August 21, 2007 at her home in Ada. A memorial service for Marlena will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 25 at the First United Methodist Church in Ada; Dr. George Warren will officiate. A private burial service at Rosedale Cemetery will precede the service.

Marlena was born February 28, 1917 at Rush Springs, Oklahoma to Clifford and Margaret Harris Huntley. Marlena attended elementary school at Rush Springs where her family operated a hotel. She moved to Oklahoma City at age 15 to live with her older sister Cora Mae Hastings after both parents died. Marlena graduated from Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City and then attended Draughon's Business School, where she received a lifetime scholarship. She worked for Republic Life Insurance in Oklahoma City.

Marlena married George William "Bill" Lee on August 6, 1938 in Oklahoma City. They moved to Ada in 1939 from Oklahoma City. Marlena was a homemaker, an active member of the First United Methodist Church, the Tanti Study Club, Ruth Rachel Circle and the Douglas Bible Club. Marlena was a member of the Kiwanis Queens, Ada Prime Time and several local bridge clubs. Marlena and Bill were active with the Ada Hobos Camping Club and traveled to all 50 states in their travel trailer.

Marlena was preceded in death by her husband, George William Lee; her parents, Clifford Stephenson Huntley and Margaret Elizabeth Harris; three (3) brothers, Harris Huntley, William Huntley and Hugh Huntley, two (2) sisters, Cora Mae Hastings and Margaret Elizabeth (Jane) Cook and a great-grandson, Logan Smith. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Jay Cook of Ardmore, Oklahoma and sister-in-law, Veree Smith of Dallas, Texas; four (4) children, David Kent Lee and wife Pam of Denver, Colorado, William Wayne Lee and wife Linda of Boulder, Colorado, Janet Ann Lee of Ada, Oklahoma and Phillip Grant Lee and wife Judy of Galveston, Texas; eleven (11) grandchildren, Jeff Lee, Jennifer Lee, Carrie Lee, Sheryl Lee, Laura Lambrecht, Paul Lee, Jason Martin, Lisa Smith, Christina Lee, Elizabeth Lee, and Andrew Lee; and nine (9) great-grandchildren, David Smith, Kristen Smith, Baker Martin, Deacon Martin, Elijah Diamond, Evan Lambrecht, Connor Lambrecht, Johanna Lee and Audrey Lee.

The family has requested that memorials for Marlena be sent to the First Methodist Church, P. O. Box 566, Ada, Oklahoma 74821.
